In the days of the Shoftim/the Judges whose history is recorded in the seventh book of the Bible of that name, a period spanning 440 years, one of them was Samson who is remembered for saving Israel by bringing the Philistine temple down on his head in Gaza and in atonement for his dalliance with Delilah in the year 931 before the Common Era.
